Song Spotlight

I SHOULDN’T LOVE YOU THIS MUCH
Written by Grant Reiff (BMI) and Johnny Garcia (BMI) © 2012

Backstory:
“In ‘I Shouldn’t Love you This Much’, I wrote about what I went through as I fought with my head and my heart in a budding relationship. I let out my feelings about the woman I was dating at the time and tried to represent all the emotion that I felt and that I know other people feel in new romances;  the rush, the passion, the friendship, and even the fear that comes with commitment in the early stages of giving one’s heart to another. The relationship didn’t end up working out for me, but at least I got this song out of it! My hope is that this song helps anyone who listens to remember the first time they locked eyes on their love, or maybe it will bring back memories of the one that got away… Either way, I hope you all enjoy the song!” ~Grant

Lyrics:
V1: Six weeks, two days, and a thousand smiles
I just found Heaven just south of town
Starin’ at the stars from the bed of my Ford
And it’s only been a few kisses ago

C: Since I met you
My heart is racing
Like a rocket to the moon
I can’t hold you enough
but I don’t want to rush
I’m falling way to soon
I shouldn’t love you this much.

V2: It ain’t like me to be this way
I’m letting go take my heart away
High on love beneath the midnight sky
Never felt the way I feel tonight

(Repeat chorus)
